I forgot what lettuce is
Nah, once she finishes training me, she'll have to do the baby next.

Considering all the pains and inconveniences she's going through, she's currently stating her opinion that one child is more than sufficient. If she changes her mind later, then the papers will stay down even longer.

I forgot what color the carpet is.

Deserving?
Yeah...he's an energetic child. I could take that both ways, but I know how you meant it. :)

I'll call you whenever I'm out that way (about once a year).

Wow. Congrats. What a big step. I look forward to reading about the changes in your life, since I'm an information-slut on childrearing experiences. Eventually, in theory, so I can use all of what I've learned to be The Perfect Parent (you can snigger now).

Snigger
Modern behavioral therapists say, "The Perfect is the enemy of The Good."

You can't be perfect, and you'll go nuts trying. Try to be Good Enough™ and you'll do just fine.

Re: Snigger
:) Yeah, well, the non-flippant answer is that I enjoy learning about parenthood from the people around me (parents AND children), and I think that a lot of those bits of vicarious experience will come in handy when it's all about me.

Big step
You're not allowed to take child-rearing advice from me. Only from Karen. It's safer that way. And why would I snigger? It's a possibility, isn't it?

YAY!!
Have you realized that you and allah_sulu are entering into the parenting adventure at relatively the same time?

I also wanted to apologize for a comment made previously regarding having children that upon reading that post make me feel like a heel. Sorry. I'm so glad you have this opportunity and may I offer any aid I can having been through two toddlers and having one painting the cat currently?

<lj user="allah_sulu"> is pregnant? Wow!
Yes, I have realized this. We're several months ahead, what with not having to wait through the preganacy and the first year.

Feel free to apologise, but I've no idea what you're referring to. It must have not registered, or not offended me if it did register, and you should avoid feeling heelish. Thank you, and you may offer aid. I know it's a bit of a distance, but you're welcome to babysit. :) Painting the cat?????

Re: <lj user="allah_sulu"> is pregnant? Wow!
Very true but its' my experience that 2-3 year olds love babies. :)

As far as babysitting goes, I would love to trade...except I think there are laws against air mailing humans. It may get expensive after awhile, too.

I'm sure Q will be glad to tell Karen all about what she's missing...

Yep, Seth and I kinda keep in contact from time to time...

I'm happy for the two of them, and I think it's really cool that it's happening relatively concurrently.

Thanks! I'm not certain about one thing you said, though. Doesn't everyone (in one way or another) work for the Secret Masters?

Re: HUZZAH!!!

Yes, everyone works for the Secret Masters, but only A Chosen Few [TM] are selected as Minions [TM]. The rest are merely Dupes [TM]... >;)

Large COnga-Rats to the both of you!

I'm sure that this has been brought up about a gazillion times, but if you need help childproofing your home, let me know. Not like I have any experience... lol

Yeah, you don't get the adorably cute baby stage. OTOH, you also don't get the I don't sleep through the night - come feed me at 3 am" stage.

Best of luck. Not that you'll need it, as I know you will be wonderful foster parents (and real parents as well).

Conga-rats? That'll please the cats!
I don't know that we need the help, but I'm sure if we require assistance, we'll ping you. No, I'll bet that if I look at your resume, it doesn't say "experienced child herder". So, I cannot attest to your experience, only your experiences. Thanks!

Wow.

That's great. :-) Yet another reason to hope I'll have just more than 2 days or so the next time I wind up visiting MD.

And now, the big question.....should I tell my mother about this? ;-)

Mother dearest
Thanks for the reminder. I need to call my mom.

It's a public post. Tell anyone you like. :)
