Now in land of no computer

So, the reinstall of Windows failed. My computer is now a very expensive electricity-sucking paperweight. Gotta get another one. Anyone have strong recommendations before Karen and I complete our shopping?

Other than that, everything else is okey-dokey. Feel free to email me at my yahoo.com address (ID: scohen85). After all, I can't reach the other one...

Re: You know I gotta say it....
He's afraid of Macintosh.
Apparently he can't figure out how to open programs with a MacOS.
This frightens me a little bit.
This, my future husband and the future father of my future children, can't figure out how to use a Mac.

You do know I read this, right???
I'm not afraid of Macintosh. I don't like Macintosh. I'm allowed to have preferences, right? Is that really such a problem?

You told me you can't figure out how to use them! ;)
And yes, you're allowed to have preferences. For example, you prefer to have ME in your life rather than a six-foot-three, blond-haired, blue-eyed model. This is a very good thing.

I could not agree more. Having you in my life is a huge goodness.

Let's stop before everyone reading this needs a shot of insulin to combat the sugar shock. 8^)

*noogie noogie noogie*

Say, I don't see you volunteering to buy me a Macintosh, College Lad! Or any other computer, either. Neeners. You may have noticed the price difference between Macs and other types of computers...

DIY computers
Well, if you're willing to build it yourself, you can't beat the pricing at TCWO. They don't always have the absolute lowest price on hardware, but their shipping can't be beat (UPS ground (takes about 3 days to arrive) up to 150 lbs for 6.95...).

Or, you can get a pre-built system from one of the major manufacturers relatively cheap... especially if you're interested in rebuild / refurb parts...

Re: DIY computers
We have beaten the prices at TCWO. I checked that, and then did PCWorld's ProductGrabber. We've beaten it several times over.

Besides, I think we've already proven pretty conclusively that I can't do it myself.

My dad got a pretty good deal the other week. He bought an 'open box special' from Best Buy and still managed to get all the appropriate rebates from buying it new.

It frightens me that my father has more processing power/speed than me and still can't figure out how to work his digital camera...

That would be an awesome deal, if it could be swung. However, finding deals like that is hit or miss. If my computer is not repaired tonight, I need to order another one ASAP. I have things I need to do that would severely inconvenience Karen if I were to monopolize her machine to get them done.

Ahem. I believe the phrasing you were looking for was:
"I have things that I need to do that would prove a hardship on my darling sweetie if she were so kind as to be inclined to allow me to use her computer for the task."
