Need updated icon - we had a girl!

Beautiful Baby Girl delivered this morning - 10:11am. She was about a month early, but GINORMOUS compared to the newborns we're used to - weighing in at 5lbs, 9ounces. Pictures to follow as soon as Karen gets them online.

it's 2 boys and 3 girls (unless you count Seth and me, in which case it's 3 boys and 4 girls) - which will utterly devastate Julian... He put in his firm order for a new brother, *not* a sister. Heh.

He specifically said he hoped it would be a brother because then there would be 2 boys and 2 girls. I explained to him that his math was off and that would mean 3 boys and two girls. He thought for a minute and said, "Yeah, but if it's a sister, there'd be three girls, and that's not okay!"

Did the triplets have preferences, or are they too young to care?

All is generally well. Please feel free to send the Asphalt Fairy over if you see them. We'd really like the divot Washington Gas put in our driveway a few years ago de-divoted. 8^)

Obviously you hadn't seen any recent pictures of Seth, or read about his ob/gyn travails.

well, he didn't post any belly sots of himself the whole pregnancy, so it was easy to miss.

If I'd given birth, it would have been a boy and we would have named him "Jacob".

OK, guys. I really thought it was common terminology nowadays for the COUPLE to be "expecting" and not just the woman.

I haven't had time to check my LJ to see how much I've posted about it. In years past I've mentioned to people that Karen's much better at posting kid updates than I am, and that they should follow her journal if they want to stay current.

I barely use Facebook. It's for xposting, really, for the people that aren't on LJ. Since I can't post the same way that I do on LJ, I don't do much with it. Also, the volume of stuff posted by other people is simply too high for me to absorb. I'm for some reason not unbusy.

Mazel tov -- I saw the picture Karen posted and she's such a beautiful baby!

Is Karen all right? I've been so worried for her all this pregnancy, and am really hoping she can get started healing from all the damage her body took in the fight to get this lovely little girl safely into the world. Please let us know how the mama is as well as the baby!

Thanks! Karen's doing much better. Eating & drinking have returned as options for her, and the gestational diabetes has gone away. She's still not comfortable, but the pain of having a baby is probably more manageable for her than many people because of her exceptionally high pain tolerance. That's not to say she's not looking forward to healing completely, but it looks like that's where she's headed.
