My hand is feeling fine, although when combined with giving blood yesterday and getting a tetanus booster, I'm feeling a little kicked around. Not as much as Karen is, so I'll shut up now about any other pain & suffering.

On the downside (in other matters) I had an idiot light on in my car for the last week or so. This morning I had the time to take it in, and there are several minor but unhappy things happening. If I owned a less expensive car the repairs might be less expensive, but I'm going to chalk this one up to the fact that since I own a moderately expensive car, this is the first time I've had to take it in for multiple hundreds of dollars of repairs. In short, owning a quality vehicle means fewer overall repairs. I'm also closing in on 40K miles (that's almost 60K kilometers for those of you keeping track in metric) and my car needs its regular service as well. The dealer (where my car is at) has given me a loaner while they investigate the problems, and I should have my car back tomorrow if all goes well.

The long and the short of it: several hoses and my serpentine belt are cracked from use, and need to be replaced. Also, Jiffy Lube put the wrong kind of coolant in my car when I took it to them for an oil change recently, and the two coolants are not working well together...in fact, they are congealing. Yikes. The dealer is going to flush my coolant system several times, but if things need to be replaced, you know I'm going to have to have a little discussion with Jiffy Lube about this matter, and their financial responsibility for any damage.

Oh, the total for today's service? Probably around $1300, although that's just an estimate. *sigh*
