We have power

As of 1am this morning, the power came back on...and stayed on. And there was much rejoycing.

Things that need to be done (regardless of the storm) are:
Take out trash
Install wood flooring (handyman has blown us off 3 times. What are the odds?)
Have roof checked for leaks
Gutters cleaned
Fridge/freezer emptied (preferably by tonight, as trash day is tomorrow)
House returned to a semblance of normalcy
Check written to cover car loan

I'm at work now. I have 3 more shifts this week. Karen's theoretically working as well, except that she has the World's Worst Ear Infection. I feel bad that I can't do more for her.

Now, if only we had cable (and by extension, the cable modem). Someone feel like taping Enterprise and West Wing for us?

Floor warning
From my lovely wife....

Make sure there's plenty of padding under the floor. She's working at a store with Pergo flooring, and after being on her feet all day (7 hrs), her feet were killing her. So, make sure they put plenty of padding underneath the floor.

You may want to double up on the padding (since it's cheap... I didn't, and wish I had, but I'm not gonna redo it just for that....

Trust me, for I am the Home Despot....

Re: Floor warning
Thanks for the advice, Despot. I'll run that by the bozos who will be doing the flooring. I don't mind extra padding...but I'm not going to make a special trip for it. I have a few odds-and-ends to get now that we have power, so perhaps I'll get it next time I'm there.
