Tidbits

The hardwood saga is almost over. The hardwood has been fully installed for several days now...but we were away over the weekend, and thus not much progress has been made on returning our downstairs to its normal condition.

One step in the right direction involved two trips to Ikea. We now have four matching bookcases in our dining room, filling up the area where we previously had three unmatched bookcases. I need to install a set of drawers in the rightmost one, but once that's done, all of the books in boxes (and a goodly amount of clutter) will all go on those shelves and into the drawers. I can then hack away at other things that need maintenance and cleaning.

We'll be spending the weekend at Harold and Becky's. This will be good...not that staying at Ellen's is anything but wonderful, but it's good to not wear out our welcome. Also, I get to talk shop with Becky, something I haven't had much chance to do over the last sets of holidays.

I finally got my schedule for the next two weeks. Tuesday evening is my only evening next week, and the following week I'm in the evening on Monday and Thursday. I should be able to get some of the other home maintenance stuff done during those mornings.

Sorry there's nothing more exciting. Work is good, and busy, except for right now. 8^) A welcome change.

Say hi to Harold and Becky for me! (Aaron and the cat if you like, but they probably won't know me by name. :-) )

Will do!
The cat is much more absent at the new house (good thing, that). She's almost never to be seen.

I don't know that Aaron will slow down long enough for me to talk to him. I don't remember ever having that kind of energy!

Poor Quantum. She still hasn't gotten over the trauma of the move, I gather.

That's how it's supposed to work. The surprise improves the effectiveness of the "just wait 'til you have children of your own!" curse.

We did. They said, "Where did you see Monica?" "LiveJournal," we replied. Then began the great discussion.

Livejournal: Tool of Satan, or Tool of the Devil? :)

Why choose? :-)

But Harold knows about LJ already; he's even commented in mine (though I don't think he reads regularly). Had he forgotten, or was it yours he didn't know about?

When I see them at Darkover (that is, if they're going this year), should I tell them Seth said hi? :-)

He said something more along the lines of "It's another one of those time-wasting Net things, isn't it?" We said yes, and then gave him more details.

But of course! What other choice is there??

Thanks! They look even better with the drawers in, and the books out of the closet and my office! Now, for cleaning the office and finishing the downstairs...
