Here's what's been going on. My father's mother died on Thursday morning, and we raced up to Massena, NY to get there for my grandmother's funeral. Grandma was 94, and had been in the care of a nursing home for the last several years, since a stroke took away her ability to walk or talk well enough to be on her own. I think she waited until Dad was out of prison to say goodbye to him, and then decided it was time to go.
As there is no simple way to fly to Massena, we started driving after Shabbos, and got a hotel room overnight in Syracuse, NY. We had the pleasure of sharing the hotel with the Am Jam convention, but I can't link to the convention homepage (not work-safe). We drove the remaining three hours the next morning, attended the funeral, and drove home. We got back at 1am, and I've been catching up on other things the rest of the day.
I'll talk more when I get the time. Be well, all.
