A hard day's night

I've been out of college for more than 8 years now. When do I stop having nightmares about classes and exams? Admittedly, after a long enough dream with the same theme, I recognised that it was internal drama and not reality, so it wasn't too bad. It still wasn't as pleasant as, say, uninterrupted dreamless sleep...

Yesterday was spent being productive. I put a couple of cribs together, one more successfully than the other. The one that had instructions went together less well, and my Google-fu was not up to the task of determining how to fix what was wrong. The crib from the Crazy Israelis went together just fine. I also put together a set of resin shelves to try to make vertical what had been horizontal. I can't put a third crib together until I have floor space to put it on. We're now closer on that last task; I'll pick up more shelves when the opportunity arises.

I'm headed back to work today. I need to try to get in a goodly amount of time this week, despite holidays on Thursday and Friday. I've used about half the leave work has advanced me (as of last week, not including what I'll spend this week) and because of payroll issues, it's not going to come in this week's paycheck. Luckily, the mortgage is paid. I need to sort bills and make sure all is well, but the crib assembly was more important last night.

The kids are all well. All eating, growing, etc., usually doing baby things in preference to preemie things. Abigail made it over three pounds yesterday! Woo hoo! Karen and I both went shopping, and she came back with better stuff than me. Julian got pajamas that look like Superman's costume. He spent the evening flying around the house. Thanks to Jon and Laura, we have a new camera, so she got pictures.

Mmmkay. More later. I should be thinking about getting up for work.

***EDIT, 7AM***

I forgot: we've received a lot of nifty baby stuff. The one that was unexpected came from a vendor I deal with at work, onesies from CafePress. One blue, two pink. Text on the front reads: "1 of 3", "2 of 3", and "3 of 3". Awesome.

Beats me; I very seldom remember my dreams. I do know that I've had a couple of similar "showed up for Rocky Horror without my costume or knowing the part" dreams, after those stopped being relevant.

Heh. I've had those. Not a lot of them, mind you. Admittedly, those immediately clue me in to the fact that it's a dream and not reality...

You didn't tell me that you were creating a collective of Borg.

I am Father of Borg
Not intentionally, no. I'd be able to get them to do more for me if they were Borg. All I can get 'em to do for now is eat, breathe, and poop.

You know....
I had a dream the other night where Dad walked in the door and said "I was hiking in Alaska and you had me declared dead?" THAT freaked me out. However, I am more mechanical than you and would be happy to help with and more assembly. I also wanna get a mobile or something pretty like that. Sokay?

Re: You know....
I've had some dream like that. I blame the Endless.

Mobiles are good. As long as they're not snow mobiles.
