so much for battling insectophobia

Julian is afraid of bugs & spiders. This afternoon, he came to me, scared because there was a bug on his bed. I looked at it, and it looked to me like some sort of fly. So, I grabbed a Kleenex and picked it up to go flush it.

The damthing stung me. I threw it and the tissue on the floor, and stomped on it. I then put ice on the sting (Thanks, icy Elmo!) and there isn't a mark on me. Julian, however, isn't interested in going back to his room. Or outside...

Re: Bit, not stung
That would make sense, considering that the ice got rid of the pain. Had the skin been broken and something injected underneath, there would have been additional reaction...which there hasn't been. Your hypothesis stands.

I don't know why you know these things, but I'm glad you do. That pleases me, and means I'll probably stop looking at my finger every hour or so. Peace of mind, inexpensively. Woo hoo!
