Putting a polish on the journal

I dunno what people get out of listing interests, but I had some time to kill at work today, and I raided my friends interests. I'm not all the way through, but I have a lot more. For what it's worth.

I listed some initially because I saw other people doing so. I've found that they're semi-useful for two things: giving random people who bump into my journal a hint about whether they'll find it interesting, and finding other journals that I might find interesting through the "search by interests" feature. Not that I go surfing for journals all that often, but still...

What I've discovered during this process is the number of interests my friends have in common that I don't consider a high enough priority to list as an interest (or things they have in common that I don't care about at all.) But other than that, I'm not certain how much value I'll get out of changing things. *shrugs

There's a difference between the things you would spontaneously generate (probably many fewer than 150) and the things you see on someone else's list and say "yeah, ok" to. Unfortunately, there's no way to rank the list; you can't even do it by order, because LJ alphabetizes the list.

They're good for finding other users and communities that you might have things in common with, and vice versa.

Great. *More* bastards who lumber into my journal. Just what I needed. :)

If you don't want anyone reading your journal, write it on paper.

Then burn it.

I could go into more detail about what I meant...

...or I could just call you a bastard.

Somehow, although it is not more informative or helpful, it is more pleasing to simply point and scream. 8^P

I see you are trying to get to the meat of the issue. I won't ask you any questions, because some might think I was trying to grill you. I can tell that asking you won't help, due to the glazed look in your eye...

What glazed look in my rib-eye? And why won't you grill me? Chicken?

Ah well, ham's the breaks... Beefsides, I thought it was a very meaty issue.

Now, Trey, tell me how you really veal. I'm fishing for the real answers, here! Don't stick your head in the sand like an ostrich!

Well, just for the halibut, I'll tail you.

I was always a shrimp, and would clam up in when in public (due to being cowed by others at a young age, while horse from a coldcut). Well, one day, I leeked on as some of those turkeys who gave me such a hard thyme were ground up into sausage by others. It was fun watching them quail in tiramisseue. But, I couldn't dessert them, much as I enjoyed watching them roast, since "Everything ewe do will come back emu"...

But I digest.

So sow or ewe?

I bow to your superior ability. I feel sheepish just even attempting to de-pig's-feet you.

If I can scrape up a few more, I'll do so...but it's busy at work.

How's my Eastern Seaboard coming?
Dec. 30th, 2002 01:23 pm (UTC)
Eastern seaboard progresses slowly, like a turtle in molasses in the Artic Circle. ?why is the turtle in the artic circle? ?where did it get a thick, sugarcane derived syrup from? ?why the artic circle? ?why am i putting questions in double questionmarks? um, nevermind about the turtle bit there... just had a wild hare up my ass....

I haven't had time to work on the eastern seaboard lately... I need to get back on that.

However, in (hopefully) good news, I should have DSL access soon at the house... go me.

Also, if you've seen / enjoyed the 2 lord of the rings movies, see my journal for links to some really funny parodys....
If you didn't enjoy them, see the links too... very choice stuff.

Artic? Arctic!
Yer speling iz egzellant! Me likes.

Yeah, it'd be nice if you'd finish the one task. I have more assignments for you (my wife needs one of her coworkers removed, and I suspect that you have the skills to do so...) but I can't interrupt your first task because you might never finish it!

DSL good. Pie good. Me like pie. Pie!!!!!

I'll look for the links when I'm done cleaning my office. Looking forward to fine humor. :)
